tercation at the Denny Fruit company
packing house, last October, was ac
quitted by a jury in the clrffiit court
Wjadiesilay afternoon... The jury de
liberated only half an hour. Mrs. Kate
young was the only' woman on the
jury. -The state was represented by
District Attorney Borden, and Deputy
District Attorney Gaylord, and the de
fense by Attorney George M. Roberts.
A lively moment) came during the
arguments to the jury by Deputy Dis-
trlct Attorney Gaylord, who dilated
upon prohibition enforcement, which
brought vigorous objections from the
defense counsel sustained by the
. court.

Roberts, as the state assistant pound
ed the table with his fist..
Before the bench could rule, Attor
ney Gaylord said : "Your honor, . I

WASHINGTON, Dee. 13. Exports
from the United Stittes during Novem
ber were valued at $404,000,000, com
pared with Imports for tho same period
of v $292,000,000, leaving a balance of
International trade favorable to this
country of $112,000,000. '
The value of exports during Novem
ber announced today, by tho com
merce department was greater than
that for any other month since Febru
ary, 1921. The imports in value were
a trifle less, than those of October and
practically equal to those of Novem
ber, 1922, when imported commodities
amounted to $293,000,000. .
Officials said one of the reasons for
the heavy export total could be found"

In the commodity section; of the In
ternational trade summary tho depart
ment estimated that with tho eleven
months ending November, the United
States has exportod $3,745,180,000
worth of goods and has Imported goods
valuod at $3,504,500,000. During the
same olovon mouths of 1922 the ex
ports were placed at $3,487,449,000 and
the imports at $1,818,958,000'
Comparing the two years, the favor
able trade balance of the United
States for 1922 to date was found to
be approximately $249,000,000, while
during the same period last year the
balance favorable to tho Unltod States
