OF ROGUE VALLEY
DIES.- AGED 80 YRS.
Zorilda Turpln, 80 years old, a resi
dent of Rogue River valley for the paBt
M years, and widow of the late Ham
ilton C. Turpln, who passed away In
11113. died at her home 7 mllea north
of Medford at 7 o'clock this morning
alter nn illness of - one week. .
Mrs. Turpln was born in Scotland
county, Mo., March 24, 1843, and was
married In the same county March 28,
1.S57 to Hamilton Turpln. The fam
ily, moved from' Missouri to California
where they resided for one year, com
ing to southern Oregon in 1869. She
resided on the home place since 1901.
She leaves to mourn her demise, 8
children, they are: James Turpln of
Portland, Charles,' of. Central Point,
Mrs. U. P. Gilbert, Medford; Mrs.
I.ano Wylnnd, Beagle; ; Thomas Tur
pln, Bremerton, Wash.; Niron and Ar
chie Turpln of Medford.
Also two sinters, Mrs. William Greg
ory and Susan Penland of Central
Point.
Funeral services' will be held at the
Conger chapel Saturday at 1 p. m.

William T. Moore was born May 19,
1S03. In the state, of Ohio. When a
hoy he came with his parents to Jack
sonville, and there grew to manhood.
On May 11, 1887. he was united in
marriuge to Anna- Bilker of Jackson
vlll who survives him.

he Is having a number of inquiries- as
to whether the county is still paying
bounties on animals of prey and says
they are paying bounties on coyotes.
