The dwelling house that formerly
belonged to Mr. Mesaner, but now to
Mr. 1.. L. Hatfield, has been entirely
remodeled, so that it is a hundred
per cent, better. . It is reported that
Mr. and Mrs. w. H. Noreross are to
tenant it in the very near future.
A short change artist has been ply
ing his trade in this city a day or two
tills week, for one of his unsuspecting
victims was Thomas Ross of the local
pool room.

charge of the barber shop belonging
to Mr. Jphn Ross. It Is understood
that he will have charge of It for some
time while Mr, Ross is recovering
from the effects of an attack of
rheumatism.
Frank E. Ross, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Q. B. Ross, very, well known in this

Arizona. Mr. Rosa is congratulated
on his advent into the field of matri
mony. Ho is at present a mining en
gineer, being very successful In. that
business. He is a graduate of the
local high school, and of the Oregon
Agricultural college, taking a course
of mining engineering at that insti
tution. D. B. Hildreth, of Jacksonville,
but formerly of this city was a visitor
here, the first part of . last week,
meeting old frionds. He had Just
returned from a throe years enlist
ment in the U. 8. army in the avia
tion department. He was stationed at
Mount Clemens, Mich., the same
place that Albert Hicken, of this' city
also Is stationed: Mr. Hildreth re
ports that he is doing very good In
his field of endeavor. This year is
the last year for Hicken, and no doubt
he will soon be back to Join hfs
brother and mother who still reside
here.
Mrs. Albcrs and son, Otto, of Salem,
were visitors In Central ' Point last
week. They have returned to their
home.
