BE Ft UN While politicians quib
ble and delay, the German masses
starve or live on insufficient rations.
Unemployment Brown at a rapid rate
and millions of Germans face a win
ter of want and privation.
Berlin and other cities and towns
have establiHhed municipal kitchens.
'Limited quantities of free fuel are
provided for by cards. But the meals
and the fuel are dependent upon
cards whose lssusnco Is Irregular and
shares the general disorder which has
spread throughout the control of food
supplies.
' With the abolishment of the bread -oard
and the subsequent rise of Ger
man black bread to figures which are
fantastic In comparison with the un
employment doles, the situation be
came more acute than ever and pave
political agitators their opportunity to
incite riot.
The condition of the unemployed Is
pathetic In the extreme. By depreus
the old people, many of them middle
class, have been forcd to go upon the
street for alms.
-But the rioters are not of this cluss
for the most part. It Is the you neuters,
many of them communists, and many
of them not Germans, who have or
ganised the riots. However, the
grounds for violent demonstrations
against officialdom are so valid that
the extremists have the sympathy, if
not the actual support, of men and
women of nearly all classes.
Charges that the demonstrations
have had much encouragement from
Moscow have not done much to soften
the bitterness of the German public
toward the central government. The
fact remains that Germany had an ex
cellent crop this year. There nre more
than enough potatoes for the German
public. Germany had a bumper crop
of grain. But the currency crash and
the letdown of ' transportation and
general disorganization in the govern
ment have made it impossible to dis
tribute the food and enable the public
to buy it.

NEW VOIiK. Nov. A unique foot
ball coach with a remarkable record
is Gilmour Dobie, now serving his
seventeenth year as a bulkier of, suc
cessful fuutball teams, the last four
of which he lias lifted Cornell to the
pinnacle of gridiron glory.
Jn the 16 years prior to 1123, Doble
coached elevens won 81 victories,
scored three ties and were defeated
but three times, rolling up. a rand
total of 1P3 1 points us against the
252 (or their opponents. And, as this
seunon has witnessed other Dobie vic
tories and the scoring of more than
200 points by his Cornell eleven, his
list of triumphs now is close to 90 and
the total points scored by his teams
is well over the 3900 mark.
As "Glooniv Gil" he is known and
referred to by eastern football writ
ers, and that sobriquet is made the
subject of a sketch anDearine in a re.
cent issue of the Cornell Alumni
News.
The article Uikes issue with stories
which have depleted Doble as a mo
rose, and somewhat profane individ
ual. It states that while he can "cuss
on occasions and does, he "cusses out"
the play and not the players. It adds
Ills players have unbounded confi
dence in him and that the faculty
ngree he Ih an inspirational leader.
Dobie began his coaching career In
1!05 at Minneapolis high school. The
next year he became coach of North
Dakota Agricultural college, and In
1908 be signed as hoad coach at the
University of Washington, serving In
that capacity to 1916 .In 1917 he be
came coach at Annapolis and remain,
ed at the Xnral Academy until 1920
w-hen he was signed by Cornell. In
that period Georgetown, which de
feated his 1919 Navy team 6 to 0;
Dartmouth which defeated his 1920
Cornell team, 1J to 3 and Pennsyl
vania which defeated that same team
2 8 to 0, have been the only institu
tion! to boast a victory over "Gloomy
Gil."
The secret of the success of the
Dobie system of football play has
been described as follows:
"Dobie's coaching method, . or
rather the style of play, that he de
velops hns the peculiar quality of
absolute precision "that goes with def
inate cadence, not unlike ' that of a
crack drill squad going through the
manual of arms. The marvelous
thing about It is that it goes ahead
unerringly in the midst of the confu
sion of charging lines and strenu
ous physical combat. j
"On a given play each member of
the team has definite duties to per-
form in a perfect routine and he taken'
his three steps in one direction and
two in another as infallibly and accu
rately oh if there worn no on else
on the -field."

My hair is my greatest glory- It
grows finer every year-- I have never
had falling hair or dandruff, never a
touch of gray. Mine ia a grand
mother's age, yet countless girls who
see me on the stage and elsewhere,
envy my luxuriant hah.
So with mother. She died at the
age of 67 with "hair like mine today.
So with many friends who use my
method. They have beautiful hair,
and it does not lose its color.
I am convinced that millions. In
my way. can multiply the beauty of
their hair. And I have arranged to
bring that method to them.
A French Formula.
My mother and I. many years ago,
found this formula in France. It had
been developed by experts whose
whole lives had been devoted to hair
study.
One factor in it combats hardened
directly to tho scalp. Just enough to
dampen the scalp, it takes but a
liionifiit.- and this method does, not
muss the hair. - - -
You have never known anything bo
effective, yet It is harmless. It does
not effect tho hair's color, natural or
artificial. Its whole effect ia on the
scalp, and the roots which lie therein.
Hair Youth is sold under guarantee.
If the firHt bottle, fails to delight you.
your dealer will return Us price. So
I ask you to try It at my risk. Learn
what it does for your hair. Let it do
what it did for me and mine and Vou

of .hair. They stifle the hair roots,
check hair growth, choke the supply
of pigment whiclj gives hair its color.
Other factors stimulate and fer

a scalp, as flowers will thrive In a
clean and well-kept garden1.

I call this formula my Hair Youth.
I apply it daily with an eye dropper.
