great? When do wo call a nation
great today? Wo say that tho United
States is a great nation. Why? We
cite Its wealth, its big mines of coal
and iron; Its miles of railways as evl
dences. Would a nation bo grea
without these things? If we possessed
them and had no character would we
still bo great? If we had no sense of
honor; no national Justice; few groat

A nution Is great when it teaches

would therefore call Turkey a great
nation. Greece with no great rail
roads or mineral wealth is crowned
with glory A nation is great that
dares trust in. Justice rather than
force. Thero are two ways of defend

standing army and build a strong
