TO BE A WINNER
ASHLAND, Nov. 24. The Lithlana
will give -a minstrel show December
third which will be termed the Llth
ian Cabaret Minstrel show. This show
promises to be one of the best enter
talnments given this season and cos
tumes are on the way-for the event.
Mr, Loveland Is the director of this
show and reports that these costumes
have been ordered 'from. New York,
llchearsnls are being held dally and
nil In the entertainment have been
working very hard to make this a suc
cess. The show wllk be given one
nlfiht only, contrary to a previous an
nouncement that it would be given
two successive nights. The Llthian
octette composed of Carl Loveland,
first tenor; Andy MeGee, first tenor;
Win. Brlggs, second tenor; R. L. Bur
die, second tenor; S. A. Peters, Jr.,'
and V. D. Miller, first bass and Dr.
I'hetteplace and Harry Tomllnson,
Becond buss, will entertain the au
dience with a great many pep songs
and other comedy skits being prepar
ed by them. Tickets for the show
are obtainable from any of Hie Llth
lans or their wives. The prices are
$1.00 and $1 .00 and the proceeds will
go in a fund l'or the advertisement of
Ashland. The tickets are selling very
rapidly now and Indications show that
this entertainment will be a great suc

Dr. Donald Frazer will return home
Wednesday evening from Eugene,
where he has been attending the 15nl
verslty of Oregon. He will stay In
Ashland until Sunday, When he. will
return to his studies at that place.
The prizes awarded for the beauti-
iflg, hand to hand fighting and other
similar things. There will also be an
inspection of the armory. This enter
tainment la open to all the citizens
of Ashland and especially to the fath
ers and mothers of the town. It is prob
able that an impromptu dance will fol
low the entertainment. The doors will
be open at seven o'clock and at eight

the annual opening of the season for
the guard and It is hoped that a good
many people will be tber,e at that

Recently - Upon 1he completion' of
Medford's new armory it was found
that a great many things were needed
to equip and furnish the building.
While a small sum remained' from the
appropriation for this purpose this
umuupi was xar iroin sumcient so u
fulls upon the national guard organi
zation stationed here to raise money
as they can to complete this furnish
ing. For' this purpose there will be
dances and) other entertainments
given by Company A, 186th Inf., O. N.
O., from, time to time. The first of
these will be held on Thanksgiving
Day when a dance will bo given in
the armory. A good time is promised
by the boys and It is honed that they
will receive the support that they ie-A
serve. Meurord high school football
team has been invited to attend In
body and the young people are look
ing forward to an enjoyable evening.

The auto registrations h a va aver

according to reports received from, the
local Chamber of Commerce. This
shows that despite the oold weather,
tho tourist travel, still continues to a
great degree. This Is also noticed in
the Litliia Auto camp, as this place
has been averaging about twenty-five
autos a day and sometimes running

planned to keep the camp ground In
tho best condition possible for the
coming winter months.
Mrs. Edwards, who has been house
keeper for W. W. RoWson for the past
thrtee months, will leave Saturday for
hciJ home in Salem, Ore. Her daugh
ter, Miss Ethelma Edwards, who has
been attending the Ashland high
school here will also accompany her
to her home.
Carl Carlson; shop foreman of the
Harrison Brothers Ford agency has
moved to the F. J. McWilllams home
on Church street,
C. B. Crisler, ex-mayor of Klamath
Falls, was an Ashland visitor Wednes
day. Mr. Crisler is Interested in the
Kwana Box and Lumber company of
Klamath Falls. , ,.
Captain John Qulncy Adams return
ed Thursday from Portland where he
has been enjoying the honor of being
captain of - the Oregon Rifle team
which won the National Rifle team
contest at Camp Perry . This team waB
given a banquet at the Portland Arm
ory Tuesday night and was also given
a military parade and review; While

ment (one-twentieth) and interest on paving, sewer and water
main assessments upon all properties for which application was
made to extend time of payment, will be due and payable at I
the office of the city treasurer December 1, 1923, and will be ;
delinquent after thirty (30) days from said date and shall bear
a penalty of five per cent (5) upon the amount of such de-'
linquency.
