At tho recent special meeting of
the city council, that body decided to

ed prices had been put on them.
At tho meeting a brief report on
property taken over by tho city was
presented by City Attorney J. H. Car-
kin. Following this, after some dis
cussion and talks by Councllmen But
ler and Jacobs, in view of the fact
that some of tho lots on paving have
been sold for sumo time past at from
$r00 to $600 each, and that lots in
similar cities in Oregon have been
selling at from $700 to $800, and in
somo cases $1,000. and in view of the
fact that some Jf these lots which
have been sold by the city at from
$.r00 to $600 have been resold at an
advance of $100 to $200, and ns tho
city has so few lots on hand, In view,
of the improved business conditions
in the city, it was moved by Mr. Ja
cobs and seconded by Butler, to with
draw nil lots from salo temporarily
for tho purposo of re-pricing samo
at their real valuo before making fur

OBITUARY
FRENCH Mary A- French died at
her home In Central Point early this
morning at the age of 60 years, 4
months and 26 days.
Mrs. French was. born In Corona,
Mich., where she spent the greater
part of her life.
In 1893 she was married to Warren
W. French, and to this union throe
children were born, who are Clinton
H. and Morris J. French of Sacra
mento, Calif,, and Iver S. French of
Central Point, Ore. In 1910 they mov
ed.'to Washington where they lived for
six years.1 ' Then fthey moved to Cen
tral Point where they have since made
their home.
- Funeral services will be held at the
Perl Funeral Home Monday, Nov. 19,
2 p. ni. Rev. Coan officiating. Inter
ment at the Central Point cemetery.

Farm Rates Reduced Again
In a bulletin just published, effective Oct. 15th,' rates on farm property in all standard
Bvock fue insurance companies were reduced to $1.80 per $100.00 for three years and $2.70
for five years. This reduction is made in consideration of an application signed by the as
sured setting forth all facts regarding the property injured and follows the plan worked
out successfully in several eastern states.
