The unusually long peach season
which Med ford and vicinity has en
joyed ctimo to an end recently, and
adds another bit of corroborative evi
dence for tho excellence of Medford's
climate. This season was reviewed
this forenoon by 13. J. Runyard,-superintendent
of tho public market.
"Peaches arc now gone for this
year,"- said Mr. Ilunyard. ' ' They
started coming in on July 10 and
ended November 10. Thus you see
wo had poaches for four, mouths in
succession on sale every market duy,
three days a weok. Thousands of
boxes were sold during this .time, both
at home and in surrounding territory,
in tho colder parts of Oregon aud
northern California. -

klan wan prepared to march and went
to considerable expense In preparing
a beautiful float. Several hundred
of its members wero robed and ready

announced that the klan expected to
appear, some of its opponents mado a
vigorous protest. ' Tho Legion post
refused to consider the protest., hold
ins that the legion Is a neutral organi
zation and that -an invitation- had
been extended to all organisations re
gardless of beliefs and creeds to par
ticipate Shortly before the parado,
however, the klan heard of tho pro
test that had been mado, and rather

District Attorney Newton W. Bor
den has announced that there will be
no criminal cases tried at tho present
term of 'tho circuit court, until the
session of the new grand jury, -convened
Tuesday, is completed. This
is expected to take a week or ten
days. All the old matters heforo the
grand jury ' have been disposed of,
and tho work is now with new mat

The district attorney said that the
evidence gathered in tho Southern
Pacific train robbery and murders at
Siskiyou tunnel, October 11th, would
probably, according to present plans,
be taken up tho latter part of next
week.
