Savior-and the. blessing of the Holy

brought by Christ.

ed Press.) The cabinet's estimate for
the" ordinary budget lor the year 1924,
ls"l,270,00O,O00, yen, the equivalent of
approximately "jt5,000,000 In Ameri
can money. ' , -' .
This estimate is a reduction of 104,
000,000 yen under the current year's
figures. 'The cabinet has further de
cided to reduce the proposed expendi
tures for the remainder of the current
year by 107,000,000 yen.
Pat Mego, former well known Mc
fonl policeman, who died svddenly at
New Orleans last week, was burtod
last Tuesday, Under the auspices of
the Masonic, lodge, of which he had
been a member for the last two years
This Information was received by the
local K. of P. lodge in a letter.
There were few more Interesting
characters than Pat Mego, and he hid
beneath a rough exterior a heart of
gold, characterized by a genial good
nature and, kindheartedness to the ex
treme. As a boy he went to sea, and
Joined the navy, He was one qf the
survivors of -the Aphla disaster, and
served in the Philippines. He led an
adventurous life, 'and had an Inex
haustible fund of stories from his ex
periences. The one that he never
tired of telling, was the time a des
perado, trapped in a shanty on the
San ' Francisco "waterfront, opened
fire, one bullet passing through Put's
hat. 1 He had 'also been a member'. of
the San Francisco fire department.
A) gold watch he had carrlod for
years has not been located, and it Is
presumed that It was left in a jewelry
store for repairs.
' Efforts are' also being made by the
Knights of Pythias lodge to locate a
sister and son.

have been several additions to the
church no far, und the meeting has
not reached its height in Interest and
attendance.
Mr. Scougall, who is singing to the
delight and .helpfulness of nil, will
sing a very touching and tender song
of invitation tonight entitled, "Let
Him In.'-1 The Rermon nnd the song
of tonight will be of the very best
so far in the meeting. The questions
received and read last evening will
be answered this evening.
