school is devoted to the tests that
come at the end of every six weeks
term. According to Superintendent
Smith the students are to be graded
as follows: forty percent of the grade
for the final test and sixty percent
for tho daily work. Three different
colored cards are sent to the J parents
bearing the report, white for the
average grade, blue for the students
above ninety, and red for those that

today saw a renewul of . tho . long
standing feud of Governor Hmith and
William R. Hearst in; the governor's
Tammany hall speech last night when
he said:
"The editor-politician is venting
his personal spleen against the demo
cratic party because it saw fit to
throw cold water over his personal
aspirations for high political office."
Although tho governor did not
mention Air. Hearst's name, his infer
ence was unmistakable when ho re
ferred to tho "editor-politician's"
present support of tho state republi
can judiciary ticket. Tho governor's
speech was made nt tho most impor
tant meeting thus far in tho state
judiciary and legislative campaigns
and was heard by all of Tammany's
important chieftains.
