uing his tour of Virginia battle fields
begun yesterday with visits to Freder
icksburg and tho scene of the wilder
ness fighting, David Uoyd George set
out from Itlchmond early today to
view tho areaV of operations around
the former confederate capital first
turning his attention to the historic
locality of tho seven days struggle in
the summer of 18G2.
Tho former liritish premier was at
tended on' his tour today by Rear Ad
miral Cary T. Grayson of Washington
and a committee of local citizens. Air.
Lloyd George planned a close study of
the scene of tho encounters precipi
tated by General MeClellan at the
hPd of the federal forces.
Displaying a keen interest in tho
military tactics of Dee and Jackson,
the war time premier of Great Britain
accompanied by Dume Margaret and
Miss Megan Uoyd George in his in
spection yesterday, agreed with his
guides that tho world war had de
veloped no military commander like
either of these southern leaders and
ventured tho opinion that history of
America might have been different
