"The largest Bas ever conducted
through tho local land- office will be
opened May . 11, when approximately
80,000,000 feet ot timber In Coos, Lane,
Josephine, Jackson and Douglas coun
ties will be offered for sale, says the
Roseburg News-Review. "The lands
are mostly revested O. & C. grant
lands, and Coos Bay wagon road grant
lands. The sale will bring In about
$200,000. A large' transfer of timber
is also being made here, O. & C. grant
land timber being exchanged for pri
vately owned timber. The exchange
is to be made with the Pillsbury Lum
ber company of Minnesota, the land,
consisting of about 20,000 acres, and
containing 9,000,000 ,feet of timber in
