MONTICELLO, Utah, Mar. 22. Tlio
fpur white posseinen wlio yesterday
wore reported missing have, accord
ing to advices received here, joined
the new posse which left .Handing,
southeastern Utah, yesterday at dawn
to continue the search for the rene
gade Plnte hand which caused trouble
last Monday.
Mantling is still without direct com
munication with other towns. The
telephone line from here to Mantling
is reported cut in several places.
Every possible precaution is being
taken at Blantling to prevent any sur
prise attack on the town by the rene
gade Indians. Guns and ammunition
have been received there from many
neighboring points.
In a clash late Tuesday between
possenien and the renegade Indians,
known as the Allen Canyon hand, one
redskin was shot and killed and two
others were wounded. Several Indian
ponies were also killed in the affray.
Late advices here state that the red
skins are successfully evading their
white pursuers.
