taken.
The robbery occurred some time
between six o'clock Saturday night
and eight o'clock tills morning. The
thief was evidently tin amateur, as
ho made a distinct botch of trying to
climb through the transom over the
door after having loosened the cnlcli
for tho purpose. One of his foot evi
dently slipped clumsily and tho glass,
filling the upper half of the door, was
broken. Entry was then easily made.
Tho drawers in Dr. Illckcrt's desk
were rifled, but he bad not happened
to leave any cash. Hcverul checks,
one of which was endursed, wero left
by tho thief who took nothing he
found in the drawers as far as was
known, this morning. t
