vacation trip to southern California,
reports that iu San Dlogo.it was 90
degrees in tho shade too warm for

cerning the Salem basketbnll team re
cently appearing In tho Salem Capital
Journal. "The southern trip while
not counting towards the champion
ship of the stale intcrscholastlc league
In any way gives tho Salem folks a
fine line of dope on what to expect
when the local team gets into the
tournuuieut, which, according to the
presorit Indications they will probably
do. The games with Medford were
quite a surprise as It was generally
thought that the Medford five would
take the locals to a drubbing. The
victory for the Salem, team can lie-attributed'
to n largo extent to Coach
Hollls Hiintlngton. Ho acted as couch
of the Medford five last year and as n
result knew- in a fa:r way what to ex
pect while Durno, the Medford coach,
hau. no way of knowing of the work of
the Salem team. Next Friday evening
the Medford team will come to Salem
to meet in what promises to be a
whirlwind of a match."
