to poultry raisers in southern Oregon:
On September 13 to 16 tho first
Jackson county fair will be held on the
newly constructed fair grounds near
Medford. This undertaking is primar
ily and exclusively for the benefit of
the entire people of Jackson county.
At great expense and untiring effort
tile officers and directors are endeav
oring to make this the best and most
comprehensive exhibit of farm' pro
ducts, livestock, poultry, horticultural,
floral, art, dairy, mineral and manufac
turing displays ever undertaken in
southern Oregon. The efforts of the
officers and directors will of course be
unavailing unless supported by just as
enthusiastic and untiring assistance by
ull who are in position to contribute t
the success of the fair, and.it is with a
view of enlisting your encouragement
nnd help that this letter is being sent
to you.
Having been appointed superinten
dent of tho poultry and pet stock di
vision of the fair, und being desirous
of making this department one of tho
most complete and Instructive in the
entire list of exhibits, I earnestly so
licit your assistance to that end by
bringing in as many entries as you are
able to furnish. Ample facilities will he
provided for tho accommodation and
caro of all exhibits that may be en
tered, a practical and competent poul
try man will be in charge of your en
tries at ail times, proper feed will bo
supplied without expense, and you are
assured of the best expert judging ob
tainable. Only by the united efforts of nil can
our poultry nnd pet stock division be
mnde to measure up to the standard
deserving of this great industry, which
ill recent years has made such great
strides in this section. Can we not
depend on vour cooperation in assuring

The officers of the Craters club nre
experiencing greut difficulty in secur
ing a sufficient number of cars to take
all of the members who desire to par
ticipate in the pilgriinnge to Copco
uext Sunday. In addition to members
of the Craters club, transportation
must be provided the thirty members
of the Elks band who will accompany
them and for that reason the Craters
who have curs and who sent in their ,
cards that they would prefer to ritle !
with others are asked to take their
machines If nt all possible.
A great stunt is being planned by
the Craters to advertise the Jackson '
county fair in northern California. For!
tills reason alone the members should
make every effort to attend und pro
vide the transportation ns requested.
