named Monday at the big meeting
held here by men representing the
major industries of four counties.

those received today is the following
message from CharleB E. Virden,
president of tho California Fruit Dis
tributors regarding the action of the
San Francisco meeting:
"Today at a mass meeting of
farmers of the state of California as
sembled in San Francisco, the .fol
lowing preamble and resolution were
unanimously adopted:
"Whereas, farm production is the
life blood of the nation; whereas
transportation is absolutely necessary
to existence of the pepolo; whereas
some permanent method must be at
once found to make impossible now
and 'forever the Interruption of the
nation's traffic; therefore be It re
solved we demand immediate re
sumption of the railway service now
interrupted; wo urgently request that
congress' now in session enact legis
lation creating a board with absolute
authority to prevent further interrup
tion of transportation now and for all
time; we demand pending immediate
action of congress that' all employes
shall return to work and that the'
railroads shall give employment to

The following telegram was re
ceived from the Florida citrus ex
change which handles nearly all of
the orange crop in that state:
"We will wire President Harding
and wish to assure you of our sup
port in tho movement you have
started. We will, appreciate your
keeping us informed as to progress.
The nation must be fed. It should
be made a crime to Interfere with tho
transportation of food."
