In tho plans of tho company aro held
every afternoon at Mack's Oarage in
Ashand In which a retort of one-ton
capacity. Is employed. This retort ex
tracts 100 gallons of oil, over two
barrels of oil from ono ton of Dead
Indian shale. . This is a high grade
oil with a paraftn base.1 Besides gas
there aro bv-products of gas, lamp
black and fireclay.

Modford Friday afternoon at 4:15
from Crater lake. Muyor C. E.
Gates Is muklng the local arrange
ments and an Impromptu raeetlng
will bo hold Friday evening In the
city park during the band concert.
Speakers of the caravan will be heard
at that time.
Saturday morning tho caravan
starts for Ashland where another
large meeting will be held to welcome
them. It Is expected that there will
be a large crowd at the meeting here
Friday night as among the speakers
who will be heard are some of the
most prominent buslnesa men on the
coast.
The object of this caravan Is to
convey to the people the Import
ance of getting ready for the year
1925 when Oregon will act as host
to the civilization of two continents.
This caravan was made possible
only by the patriotic Influence and
enthusiastic appreciation of a group
of men whose state wide Interest bus
accepted the exposition aa the ve
hicle tp place Oregon in international
prominence. '
