WHAT STATE MOTOR
The great majority of automobile
ownors in the state of Oregon have
Utile or no conception - whatever of
the real value oJ a membership In
tho State Motor Association. They
hear about it, they read about it,
they hotico the association emblem
on tho rac!'ator3 of other cars they
pass on tUb .-oad. but th.y seldom
take the trouble to investigate and
find out what the organization is or
what it stands for. They have yet
to learn of the many benefits to "be
derived by becoming a member of
this fraternity of automobiliots, an
organization that gives real value for
evervj dollar paid into it in the way
of dues. They are not yet awake to
the fact that a membership in the
Oregon Stato Motor association Is
an Investment that pays sure divi
dends. The Oregon State Motor Associa
tion is one of the members of the
great family of affiliated A. A. A.
motors clubs that has done so much
to bring about gie favorable condi
tions which tho automobilists of this
country enjoys today. There are
something like .seven hundred of
these clubs in the United States. A
membership in the Oregon associa
tion carries with it a membership in
tn the parent body, the A. A. A., and
entitles one to all the privileges and
benefits of any of the other affiliat
ed clubs. No matter what state one
travels into, he will find "Three A"
clubs, any one of which will gladly
render gratuitous service to the mem
ber of an affiliated club. To a mo
torist traveling through another
state such service In itself is well
worth' the price he pays to become a
member of his home organization.
Before starting on his trip the mo
torist can secure through his branch
of the A. A. A. complete maps of the
entire route over Which he proposes
to go. .; And the maps will show the
exact condition of the roads all the
way. This can be supplemented by
more exact information as he nears
the next section to lie covered. His
A. A. A. guides will tell him where to
find satisfactory and economical ser
vice in each town through which he
passes, what hotels to stay at and
the other information which the
traveler wishes to have.

suit of a slugging streak surpassing
even the most violent batting: out
bursts this season und rivalling the

By taking a double victory from
the Phillies, 19 to 8 and 7 to 3. mak
ing it 10 in a row, the larruping Cor
saires brought their hit and run tota
for the last three games with the
Quakers to 68 and 4 3 respectively,
giving the team a batting average of

hits in the first game and 27 and 1!
in yesterday's contests. A remarkable
feature was the fact that every mem
ber of the team connected for at least
