OLYMPIA, Wash., Aug. 8. Breaking
out anew In five sections, located in
four townships, the BIoedel-Donovan
forest fire Is now the most damaging
( blaze -of the year, according to reports
received today by State Forester E.
Pape. This fire, which broke out three
weeks ago, was supposed to be under
control recently, when a number of
fire fighters were taken off. No sooner
was the force reduced than the fire
broke bounds, sweeping a strip of vir
gin cedar and fir for a distance of
about 12 miles and doing immense
damage. Every available fire fighter
is now at, work endeavoring to check
the flames.
Two supposedly incendiary fires in
Thurston county were subdued last
night, according to reports of fire war-
, dens.
BELLINGHAM, Wash., Aug. 8. A
forest fire which is threatening one
billion feet- of timber along the south
fork of the Nooksack river has become
so serious that deputies have been sent
to the scene by the Washington Fire
association. Most of the fire is saia
to be in Skagit county, near Cavan-
augh creek. The principal owners of
the timber who, are assisting in fight
ing the fire are the E. K. Wood Lum
ber company, the Great Northern Rail
road, the Sound Timber company and
Eddv brothers. Timber owners said
the origin of the fire was "suspicious.

NEW YORK, Aug. S. Prices
moved with irregular trend in to
day's fairly active stock market scs-,
sion. Inability of pools to attract an
outside folowing at the higher levels
of prices and a weakened technical
position encouraged bear attacks.
There were directed principally
against motor and shipping shares,
weakness of which undermined tho
whole list after an early show of
strength. The advance was resumed
later .but realizing sales limited its
scope. Sales approximated 750,0001
