The Jackson County Medical society
held their second annual picnic in
Lithia park at Ashland last evening,
it being the dnte of their regular
monthly meeting. Dr. P. W. Covington
of the Rockefeller foundation, who ap
peared before the Medford chamber of
commerce at their forum luncheon yes
terday, was present with the doctors
last evening, and made a short address
on the work which It Is hoped will be
established In Jackson conty. Upon
the conclusion of Dr. Covington's talk,
a motion was made and unanimously
adopted by the society to send a set
of resolutions to the county court, ask
ing that that body act favorably upon
the offer made by Dr. Covington.

able, as was prophesied in Isaiah

ministry taught that the command
ments not only covered the outward
acts, but extended to the thought or

utterances; and in the same discourse

PUT VALLEY RADIO IN
W. J. Virgin of Central Point Is 'In
stalling a radio transmitting set and
will broadcast markot and news re
ports furnished by The Mall Tribune.
He will start with a 5-watt station,
but a 50-watt transmitter will be In
stalled as soon as possible. The re
ports will be able to be heard with
suitable receiving apparatus all over
southern Oregon.'
It is expected that the set will be
in operation within t the next three
weeks. . Mr, Virgin is doing the work
himself and has bought tho appar
atus. Concerts will be broadcasted in
addition to the news and market re
ports from The Mail Tribune.
OBITUARY
MORRIS Joseph" Elza Morris died
at his home one mile west of Talent,
July 20 of Brights disease. Deceased
was a native of Missouri, born March
25, 1872 and aged 50 years, three
months, 25 days at the time of his
death. He had been a resident of Ore
gon for 40 years, leaving his wife Jose
phlne, five sisters and two brothers,
Mrs. Mary Carlton, Talent, Ore., Iva
Morris, Point Terrace, Ore., James
Morris, Talent, Ore., Mrs. Amy Morris,
Lane county, Oregon, Mrs. Dolly Hall,
Walla Walla, Wash., Mrs. Mattle Knos
key, Florence, Ore. The funeral ser
vices vill be held at the Wagneij Creek
cemetery, Saturday at 10 a. m., Inter
