euliy advances. The rise was check
ed before noon, such leaders as
Studebnker, Baldwin and the inde
pendent steels reacting shnrpely.
There was heavy selling of Chandler,
which fell over 3 points. Food spec
ialties, including sugars and coca
cola, eased unden pressure. Rails
were dull and lower, asido from the
firmness of New York Central. Call
money opened at 2 3-4 per cent.
