OBITUARY
THRASHER James Thrasher
passed away at the home of his
granddaughter, -Mrs. Wm. CarleBs of
I'hoc-nix this morning. -Mr. Thrasher
was "horn in Cincinnati, 'Ohio, April
28, 1S34. In 1858 he was married to
Nancy Harp, and to this union were
born six children, fAe of whom sur
vive. Mr. Thrasher was one of tho sturdy
pioneers of Ja'cksonvllle, having en
gaged in mining at that place In 1852.
He later moved to California, and 15
years ago came bark to Jackson
county nnd has resided during this
time at Phoenix.
The surviving children arc. Mrs.
V. O. Frost, of Seattle: Geo. Thrash
er. San Diego. Cat; Chas. Ci. Lake,
Crescent, Wash.: Mrs. J. H. Quinn,

this morning on a charge of cruelty to

after he had fed a live bunny to the
snake in full view of the patrons. The
snake man made quite an oration in
municipal court saying that live meat
was' necessary for the snake.' Church
