The divorce of the Southern Pacific
from the Central Pacific railway, per
a recent decision of tin- United Stales
supreme court, is reviving t lie tradi
tional talk of railroad development in
eastern Oregon, and the Klamath Falls
chamber .of commerce through its
board of directors last Saturday
passed a resolution asking the public
service commission to withhold, any
nction until the true state of the nubile
mind could be -ascertained. Represen
tatives of the Union Pacific met with
the directorB, and gave promises that
the long desired Natron cut-off would
become a reality if the divorce was
.not annulled.

The Junior Y. M. C. A. club of Oak
Grove made an overnight hike up Grif
fin creek last night. The boys started
out with blankets and grub sacks In
approved camper fashion, each cook
ing his supper and breakfast over the
coals and making his bunk in a soft
spot on the ground. The trip was
under the supervision of Chas. Dela
marter, club leader, and Cash Wood.
