boy and a former O. A. C. Btudent, son
of Mrs. Bertha F. Daddysmun, recently
graduated from Cornell In civil and
constructive engineering. During his
college year at Cornell he was appoint
ed assistant instructor in military sol-
ence, and was elected a member of the
Scabbard and Blade, an honorary mili
tary society, lie made the university
polo and pistol teams, the la'ter being
the national Inter-collegiate champion;
and also the international crew. Mr.
Daddysman will remain In the east for
the present where he will be connected
with an eastern construction company
in New York.

Initial applications for the Btate
bonus loan -must be filed by June 20,
The time for filing the loan applica
tions, originally set for May 20, was
extended by the commission to give all
ex-service men a chance at the state
bonus. No further extension of time Is
expected. Loan applications received
to date number 11,850, with 20,040 ex

as recovered yesterday near Eugene.
The sheriff telephoned Bray ton and

The .Medford baseball team defeat
ed the Grants Pass team yesterday
by a score ot S to 2. Spectators
state that Barham who pitched for
Medford deserves a great deal of
credit. As nsuul he allowed only three
Hits during the entire game and
atruck out tan men.
Higglns of .Medford made the only
home run of the game. He also
knocked a three bagger. Mclntyre
made a two Luse hit and scored the
first run. The gume was scoreless
until this happened in the 5th inning,
A number of spectators were on the
field, a, good crowd of Medford root
ers being present. Several car loads
ot Grants Pass rooters who motored
up made a good deal of enthusiastic
noise.

talks will be given at Central Point
Library, Tuesday afternoon, June 20th
at 3 o'clock, by Florence Pool, home
demonstration agent. All mothers are
urged to attend. These talks nre a
follow-up to the nutrition work started
at the previous child clinics held nt
Central Point. About forty children
have been enrolled at these clinics and
is hoped that these mothers will
come and bring their children if they
wish to check them up aB. to normal
gain in weight since the clinics. If
sufficient interest is exhibited by Cen
tral Point -women, five other discus
sions will be given.

the age. of. 85 years,
Mr. Hearn was a native of England
and came to the United Stutes when
18 years of age. . He leaves five chil
dren, Mrs. It Altkins, Walter, and
M'sh - Jessie Hearn of Falrvlew, N.
Mex.; Louis, Los Cruscos, N. Mex.,
and Andrew Hean of Phoenix, Ore.
The latter was with his father when
the end came and will ' accompany
the remains to Medford Tuesday.
Funeral arrangements in charge of
Weeks-Conger Co., are not completed
but will be announced later. Inter
ment will be in Phoenix cemetery. ,
On Sunday, June 18, at the resi
dence of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Marshall
there occurred the marirage ot Miss
Lucile Marshal to Victor E. O'Neill of
Klamath FallB. The ceremony was
performed at high noon by Rev. E. P.
Lawrence, only immediate relatives
being present The newly married
couple departed at once for an ex
tended auto trip to Yelowstone park.
