The case of the state against George
Grigsby on a charge of bootlegging
which was to have been tried before
Justice Taylor yesterday afternoon at
2 o'clock has been postponed until the
19th of this month as Beatrice Henry,
the principal Btate witness who was
under bond of $50 has disappeared.
The case arose out of a raid made by
the night police several days ago on a
house on Welch street In which three
men and three young women were ar-
rested.

laws have been reported this year than
for the past several years, according
to the opinion of J. J. McMahon, state
traffic officer, who was in Eugene last
evening on his way south from Port
land. McMahon covers the southern
Oregon territory. Including Jackson,
Josephine and part of Klamath coun
ties. The state officer states that the
motoring public is showing a spirit of
co-operation with the road officials for
tho observance of the highway laws
and that this' has had an effect on the
diminishing number of complaints.
