Fishing season opened at Gold Beach
Monday with indications that a large
number of salmon would be taken this
year. Commercial fishing on the npper
Rogue will commence May 23. There
are now a large number of salmon in
the river and local fishermen are pre
paring for a good season. The price
being paid at the mouth is seven cents
