follows: Mix thoroughly I ounce of
Kwdred atrychuinn talkalold) and 1
ounce or Pintiiimn baking soda. Bill

stan-h paste la made by dissaving 1
heaping labloaiKKinful of dry gloss
starch In a little cold water, which Is
then added to pUit or boiling water.

thin paste la formed.) Add pint
heavy corn syrup and 1 tnblesiioonriil
of glycerine and stir thoroughly. Pour
thla fixture over 16 quarts of clean
barley and mix well so that each grain
is couteu.
One quart of the nnlsoned grain
mlxiHl as aforesaid Is sufficient for
forty or fifty baits and this quantity
scattered along squirrel trails or on
clean hard places on the surface glwut
the holes will not endanger stpek.
Strychnine In any form other than the
IHiwdered strychnine (alkaloid) Is not
effective In the above, formula.
Karly poisonings are known to be
far more effective than lain ones t
dostroy the digger squirrels, as they
are Just emerging from their hiberna
tion. They are hungry and food is
scarce.
