The Massachusetts Forestry associ
ation wijl again conduct a tour to Ore
gon this summer, according to John
D. Guthrie of the public relations de
partment of the forest service. Ac
i.cording to a schedule received, the
easterners will spend July 19 and 20 in
Portland. July 21 and 22 at Crater
lake and July 23 at Klamath Falls. In
Portland they will visit lumber opera
tions and will ride oyer the Columbia
highway. The entire tour of the asso-k-iacion
takes in most of the national
forests and national parks of thtfeoun-
try and consumes nearly two months,
from June 26 to August 17.

The first game in the Y. M. C. A.
league was played last night at the
high school grounds when the Baptist
and Christian teams met. The final
score was 9 to 0 in favor of the Chris
tians. The game was late in starting
and was called on account of darkness
at the end of the fourth inning. A re
grettable Mature of the game was the
injur- to Catcher Chamberlain of the
Christian team who received a badly
smashed band in stopp'ng a foul tip.

News from Ashland says that a fire
last Sunday destroyed a barn on the
Three Oaks orchard, owned by Albert
Johnson. Twenty-five cherry trees
were so liadly damaged that Jhey will

the Judge the clerk drew 22 names out

mer was then named foreman of the
body, after which the grand Jury re
tired to its secret chambers for con
sideration of cases Involving the alleg
ed violations of federal laws. A large
number of liquor and narcotic cases
have been referred to the grand Jury
