Jesse Houck received a telegram
this morning from San Francisco that
his uncle, Ernest Horn, whose home
was In that city had died suddenly.
Mr. and Mrs. Houck left on the after
noon train for San Francisco. Mr.
Horn was known to many Medford
people, aa he had spent several sum
mers here in recent years with Mr. and
Mrs. Houck. .

"pickup' team yesterday afternoon,
and spectators and everyone else lost
track of the score in the third inning.

buildings daily, paying no attention to
the state law1 which prohibits a car
driving by a school house faster than
10 miles an hour. Ashland authorities
are making a special drive for viola
tors in this. respect and fourteen driv
ers were picked up by officers in that
city last week for violating this law
and were fined In court. The Ashland
school house zones are being policed
by special men on the lookout for vio
lators. ' Not an arrest has been made
in Medford for violation of this law
