And as liill has helped the Tinted States, so Russia has helped Hill,
For liill has at last decided U go to work, lie is to manage the Iron
works, be n sort of bolshevik edition ot Charley Schwab. Now we
shall see, what we shall see.
The soviet povcrninftit will collect n revenue of seven per cent
from the industry, and reserve the right to collect approximately
fifty per cent of the output of coal, iron and machine products. The
remainder is to be left to the workers to dispose of as they see fit.
As they see fit. Having a half -interest in the industry, th work
ers will theoretically see fit to assist Hill in making a success of the
enterprise. Relieving in communism they will cheerfully turn over
half of their toil to the government, and not object to a ten-hour day.
Till, as manager, will get no unearned increment, he will follow the

can be nofailure, however, from the American viewjxunt. as lng as

Don't you wear no shimmy shirt?

"Won't you catch a. cold and die?
Ain't you 'fraid to show your calf?

Why your clothes are made of gauze?

Do you like those peek-a-boos

Litrio girl, your 'spenders show
When the daylight plays on you;

Through your thinnest gowns of mesh;
Is it modest, do you 'snose
Not to wear no underclothes?
Little girl, I see your chest
Yea, I see wuy past your throat . ..
To a region most remote; .
Taln't my fault now, don't suppose.
Why not wear some underclothes?

Do jou want to catch the eye

JEAELY TRAINING
I KNOW I might-achieve renown by calmly snooii'npf HOihe one
down, as do some- folks debased1; but I'm old-fashioned in my
ways, ami feel that shooting other jays is not the best of taste.
Obscure, unknown I plod along, ami do not join ih'e gnuly throng
who play the murder game; they shoot some pilgrims as they go,
ami then for seven years or. ho, they revel in their fame. Their
names are blazoned everywhere, and from the .public prints they
stare, they're featured on the screen ; they elbow put the. Kerr and
sage, uplift the platform and the stage, and gather in long green.
I 'in 'tempted oft to shoot a hick, or fill hjni full oi arson ic or some
deadly juice; but I was taught in childhood's day that it's, ft
.naughty thing to hhiy without some good excuse:', My father used
to say, "Hy jing, a human life's a siuired thing, when we Rot down
to tacks, and one should ponder long and well before he journeys
forth to' fell a neighbor with an six.'' The, lessons' that my par
ents taught seem foolish to a world distraught, jazz mad and
murder-struck, and I feel sadly out of date a I keep up my hum
ble gait and watch men run amuck. When tempted to remove a
friend and thus to heights of fame ascend ami gain a movie crown
I think of dad, who always said, "It's wrong; the cord up-piles
of dead to win a cheap renown." ,
