A special committee of the City club
In Portland in a report yesterday de
clared that it was In favor of Diamond
Lake remaining under the supervision
of the forest service and was opposed
to its being included within the limits
of Crater Lake National park. The
industrial value of the lake as a reser
voir and the possibilities of the
Umpqua river as a source of hydro
electric power when it shall be needed,
were taken into consideration when
making the decision. Industrial value
was regarded as more important than
scenic value. However no definite
action will be taken by the club lint
next week.
