business men estimate that the build
ingot the new hotel here will increase

made, the greater hotel committee has
been enlarged, the plan being to
whoop up the campaign in short order,

Tho annual praise meeting of the
Presbyterian missionary society, to be

incorporating "A missionary musical i
pageant." The childhood, girlhood
and motherhood in heathen lauds will

Mr. and Mrs. F. E. French, of tho
City Laundry, have gone to southern
California for a vacation visit till after
the first. of the year. Their address

The Red Cross is collecting in the
odds and ends of the prevailing mem
bership drive, the quota for tho Ash
land district having been reduced from
$1500 to $1200.' About $1000 has been
contributed here, leaving the Belle
view, Valleyvlew and Talent neighbor
hood yet to hear from, they being in
cluded in the Ashland district. Lead
