cided hy the Retail Merchant's bureau
of the Medford chamber of Com
merce at their dinner meeting last
' evening.
i The Christmas opening day has
been set for Saturday, December
third. On the Friday night proceed
ing at seven o'clock the stores will
uncover their Christmas display win
dows. This will be made a gala oc
casion and it is expected that thous
ands of residents of Medford and the
valley will do their window shopping
that evening. A special effort wiil be
made by each merchant to offer sug
gestions as to what might be aecep-
. table for Christinas gifts.
A concerted effort Is to be made to
have the Christmas shopping done
early. The merchants were of the
unanimous opinion that ea ;y shop
pers have tile benefit of be'.i-r selec
tions and of better service.
Other plans are under way to call
attention to Medford as being the
holiday shopping center of Southern
Oregon and the merchants are de
termined to let the people know of the
splendid stocks that are being carried
j.nnd the reasonable price at which
they are being disposed of this season.
