"Judge C. H. Watson, of Gold Hill,
was in the city today, transacting a
little law business at the courthouse,
says the Grants Pass Courier. "Judge
U atson, a great many years ago, was
direct attorney lor tho territory now-
included in Josephine, Jackson. Lake
and Klamath counties, when Medford
anil Grants Pass were hardly on the
map, and when Jacksonville had n
population of about 3000 and Ashland
less than 200. Judge Watson was
forced to give up his law practice sev
eral years ago, on account of ixior
health, hut recently he has greatly im
proved, and is now hale and hearty.
He will celebrate his 72nd birthday in
nine more days, .lodge Watson was
also in the party with Joaquin Miller,
when a trip to the Oregon Caves was
made, and was Instrumental In having
them set aside as a national nionu
ment."

payment of grazing fees lor the use
of national parks is provided in a bill
