north of Central Point until 1S75,

they have since resided.
Mr. Alford. fit business affairs, was
a man of success, but spent little time
in public life. lie was commissioner
of Jackson county at the time the
court house was built, and partici
pated in tiie erection of that struc
ture. lie was also a veteran of the Itoguc
River Indian war.
Mr. Alford iH the last of eitfht chil
dren. He leaves besides his wife, two
suns and one daughter, RusseT Alford
of Klamath Kails. M. U. Alford of
M'Hlford, and -Mrs. R. F. Willis of
Klamath Falls. Another daughter.
Mrs. Wolters of Talent, passed away
last July.
