of the nation-wide campaign of the U.
H. Veterans' bureau to find and place
in process of adjustment ex-service
men's claims of every kind, including
compensation, hospitalization, voca
tional training insurance, allot mwitH
back pay, travel pay, Liberty bonds,
victory medals, etc

aggressive organization in this district

tent men in every branch, is the Gold
Coin Quartz and Placer Association.
The placer ground acquired by this ,
organization consists of approximately
100 acres of virgin ground, which has
been for many years in the hands of
various conflicting ami antagonistic
ownerships, preventing tho extensive
operation which is now contemplated.
The Pearce, llowden and Mankin pla
cer properties have long been recog-1
ni.cd as containing vast riches. Poor
Man's Creek, whero llieso properties
are located was so named duo to the
fact that it was recoguized among min
ers that it Is the place for a poor man
to make a stake easily.
All of tho past difficulties in refer
ence to these properties have been
eliminated, providing abundant water
rights nnd privileges for all purposes
toward largo operations. Southern
Oregon has produced approximately
$IO,OuO,000 in gold, and that has been

their regular meeting last evening by
Mayor C. E. Gates. . In commenting on
Oregon's scenic and other advantages
he likened the state to "a great mu
seum, full of art treasures;" and said
the 1925 exposition would do much to
attract attention to "Oregon's resources
with resultant benefit to all.
