Auto company has completed prelim
inary arrangements for the holding of
1 wrestling match In this city at the
Sat Wednesday, October 21st, be
ween Ted Thye of the M. A. A. C. of
Portland, and Lars Olsen of Athens
Ohio. This is a return bout be
tween the two, Thya winning two
bouts from Olsen, one at Gold Hill,
and one tit Ashland. Olsen claimed
that his defeats were duo to lack of
condition, and asked for a return
natch. Olsen is now wrestling In
Montana, and has evidently hit his
stride as he, has not lost a match
ilnce leaving here. A telegram was
received fro mThye Friday, saying he
would be here.
This is the first match that has
been held in this city in years, the
wrestling events being staged here
tofore at Gold Hill and Ashland, ne
cessitating an auto ride for local fans.
This time they will be able to see a
good bout without going. out of
town.
The Xatatorium has been secured
for this event. It Is highly proSable
that a match will be arranged at a
later date with Ralph Hand as one
of the principals. ,

News dispatches from Salem say the
open season for burning slashings be-
ean Saturday, according to announce
ment by H. Ebcrly, deputy state
forester. From now until June 1 per
mits will not be required for Blash
burnings. At a meeting of the state
board of forestry in Portland, Eberly
states, a policy of annual burnings of
the year's slashings was adopted. Ac-
cumulations of slashings, however,
must be inspected by the state fores
ter's office and approved before burn
