lican majority in congress and the ad
ministration were chained today by
Senator Fletcher, democrat. Florida,
with making false claims of oeiinumy.
The Florida senator declared In the
senate tliat a,' few hundred nominally
paid employes. .of the. government hail
been discharged In the name of econ
omy while congress proceeded to
create .additional federal judgeships
and to start Investigations necessitat
ing employment of clerks and, other
assistants. Jie said three months of
the extra session of congress had pro
duced little constructive legislation.
Referring to the budget bill as one of
the few worth-while pieces of legisla
tion hosnid that "perhaps there is suf
ficient help and Marin in it to bring
results.
