Known Internationally as the "father
of the dry cell," Dr. Cox contributed
many noted electrical inventions to

In the field of electro-therapeutics.
Dr. Cox in 1919 announced tlic Inven
tion of an apparatus by which natural
elements of the air could be converted
Into radio activity. Efforts to use
radium and radio activity to save the
life of the research worker who delved
deeply into this field, failed. Death
was due to a malady of the throat.
