" I understand that the friends of Mr.

il I understand that Mrs. J. Montgom
ery of this place, one of the pioneer
omen of the valley went to JackVin-

Sliver Hnrbaugh. .
1ie Carlton and two of his nieces,
daughters of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Carl

Wednesday. .
W, J. .Caraway, an auto salesman,

Ivere here for dinner Wednesday.
The Civic Improvement club of
Oagle Point was entertained at the
eautlful; country home of Mrs. M. L.
'mitt, assisted by her daughter, Mrs.
Wnhel Stanley and' dnughter-In-law,
Mrs. Guy Pruitt nee Verta drover.
'here were twenty-six of . the members
in attendance. '
The arrangement had been previ
ously made to have those who had
rarAnnd could meet at the postoffice
mid lake any who wished to attend
and the result was tliere were quite
a number took advantage of the offer
and participated in the pleasure . of
the occasion. v -' ;
After spending fln hour or two In a
social way the' president of the club,
Mrs. Mattie Urown, called the meeting
to order and held a business meeting.
A motion was made and carried to
have a big picnic dinner In the Eagle

After tlio business meeting was over

is' ilot necessary for mo to even hint
that the lunclt was up to dnte, for
every one who knows Mrs. Prewltt
and her daughters are ready to agree
with me that it us first class. I
heard one of the ladles who has at
tended about all of the meetings of the
club remark that It was decidedly the
best one ther have had.
The entertainment: was out on Mrs.
P'rultfi beautiful lawn where . the
guests could have a fine view of the
surrounding country as well as the
fine farms lying out in view,
ileo. Albert who lives at the Duprey

of our. town was here Wednesday on
business. .Speaking of people coming
to town from the country nowadays
it Is a very rare thing to see a farmer
