the Improvement of the county fair
grounds, desire that these petitions be
turned In at the office of the Med ford
Chamber of Commerce In order that
the name thereon may be counted.
In order that the county authorities!
place the quentlon of Improving Ihej

on same. It Is necessary that 15 per
cent of the 10.531 registered voters
sign the petition. A total of 1580
names of voter are necessary and at
a recent count more than 1100 names
had been secured. Ashland has since
sent In the signatures of more than
100 of her registered voters and com
mittees In various parts of the county
have been very active.
The one great objection to voters
signing the petition Is that it calls for
a special election. The law under
which people are permitted to vote
on the question of Improving the fair
grounds clearly states that this ques
tion must be taken up at a Rpcclal
election and It Is therefore Impossible
for same to he considered at any regu
lar election.
Voter of the county who desire io
see the fair grounds Improved will find
an opportunity to sign the petition at
the Mcdford Chamber of Commerce
rooms.
