valley are showing interest in the
match next Friday evening at Gold
Hill between Ilasnntii Singh and Ralph
Hand, the undefeated pride of Gold
Hill. This is the first time Hand" has
been in action since he wrestled a
draw with Ted Thye, who has since
been defeated by Walter Miller. Thye
has been asked to referee the match.
Hand will weigh 1(13 and Uasanta Kit)
pounds, catchweights, best two out of
three falls. There will bo no prelim
inaries and the bout will start at nine
o'clock.
Tho appointment of Martin D. Bow

Governor Olcott Monday. Bowers fills
the vacancy caused by the death of

pointment was made In conformity
with the provisions of the statute
which requires the recommendation of
