Tonight at trie tnbomncic the Sun
shine chorus will hold forth j a
unitiue service, which will prove to he
one of ilie most interesting meetings
yet held. Muny are turned away when
this proKiam is iut on in other cities.
Mrs. Lewis has been training the hoys
aud Kills for several weeks and many
Stunts and things of interest will ,y
given by the members of the churns
Choir. After this program Dr. UulKiu
n-Ill speak briefly to fathers and moth
ers. The ;servieo tonmht ht-Kins at
7:30 p. m..' Meetings will he held each
iight this week, including Saturday
cud three services Sunday, th0 closing
day. Thursday nlsht Dr. KuKin gives
what is considered his greatest mes
sage on "Was Hoses Scientific?" It
Ehould bo heard by an audience that
will pack the auditorium. The per
sonal workers are asked to meet at 7
p. hi. at the South M. K. church to
night. Mr. Lewis started the after
noon meetings todny.
Dr. Bulgin spoko last evening on
"Queen Esther's Plea for Her People."
The speaker- drew a striking com
parison between Esther and Christ,
showing how Esther was a type of
Christ in her -work and what she did
for her people. The historical setting
was shown in an interesting way, and
made the lessons brought out convinc
ing and helpful. The tteen went he
fore the king and pleaded for her peo
ple, so Christ stood before (Jotl and
made His plea for the human race.
When man sinned Christ went before
the throne and asked that lie might
hear their sins that freedom might
come to all. The I'nitarian and Chris
tian Scientist rob Christ of His throne.
Tell me, said the speaker, what Cod
do you know outside of Jesus Christ'
Christ nlone reveals the Father.
The queen showed sympathy for
others, a trait of character needed to
day. The world is dying for sym
pathy. Where there is no sympathy
between the husband ami wife they
are on the way to the divorce court.
Christ came to tbys world not with the
big stick, but as a man, a friend. God.
however, cannot pardon any person
till the nature of that pardon Is in man
himself. If you will not accept pardon
don't blame any one, but yourself.
Many during the time when the
Chautauqua has been following the
services have shown marked interest,
and it Is expected that the spirit of the
closing days will be good, and all ol
our people should make 'iso of the few
