Monday night at the llulsin-l.cvls
taberuacle meetings drew a large aud
ience. The women of the various
..hurches met this afternoon at the
Presbyterian church and planned for
lunches to be served next week to the
worklug womeu of Miltord. The ob
ject Is to enlist the interest of all the
community in this wurk. This evening
the Odd Fellows will a'teud in a body,
when Dr. Bulgin will speak on "David
and Jonathan."
Last evening Dr. Ilulglu in speaking
on "If I Were tho Devil What in Hell
Would 1 Do" assumed himself as Satan
and told what he would do under that
role. In doing this he sought to point
out how the devil is doing his wurk
today, and how many good people be
come his tools innocently in many
cases. "If I were the devil," the speak
er said, "1 would dress to suit my
business: 1 would get boys to dress us
dudes. I would get into society and
dress as vulgar as possible. I would
dress beyond my means. I would go
into society and command that the
naaia af Jesus be never aieatioued.
making It out of taste. I would seek
to be a moral man, and would get
people to be us moral as possible with
out being a Christian. That would he
a good advertisement for the devil. I
would also substitute education for
religion, and I would lay down a lib
eral code and brag how liberal 1 was.
I would capture the pleasure of the
day, especially the dunce, as it gives a
chuiice to ruin the young. I would try
and get iulo the church and become u
church official, and would join the
choir and set myself up as too big to
sing a gospel song. 1 would get Into
the pulpits and make fun of any who
had any piety, and lastly I would wills
per into the ears of every person who
was under conviction not to yield now,
for when they delay it will make them
weaker.
A number at the conclusion of the
sermon indicated n desire to lead the
Christian life.
CELEBRATE JULY 4
Several Medford peoplo have ex
pressed a desire to have a rousing
Fourth of July celebration this year.
There has not- been a celebration in
Medford for several years and they
think the patriotism of the people
should be demonstrated this year.
It has been suggested that those
who feel likewise should make It
known to the Chamber of Commerce
or Mayor dates.
