OAKDALE CORNER
Under the direction of City Super
intendent DuvlB a force of workmen
today began the work of cutting back
the corner of West Main street and
North Oakdale avenue 23 feet, to
lessen the danger of auto accidents at
that corner, which for years has been
regarded as the most dangerous in
this regard in the city. The city Is
enabled to make this improvement
through a deal made months ago with
the .Methodist church (South) con
gregaion.
The cutting down of this corner
will muke a great change in this
corner, and the sidewalk from North
Oakdale to West Main, or vice versa
will be in a semi-circlo around tho
corner, closer to the churh edifice
than the present sidewalks. This
change will add to the very pleas
ing appearance of the remodeled and
rebuilt church.
