The above report covers the period
from Dee. 1st to date. In addition to
this there hns been a large amount of
used clothing and shoes distributed,
some of which had been re-made or
mended, and all in usable condition.
Two families burned out, have been
helped to re-establish themselves,
three cases of delinquency handled.
Visits have been made to Ashland,
Talent. Phoenix, Central Point, Much,
ICagle Point, Rogue River, Sams Vulley
and Gold Hill.
One hundred and twenty-four visits
made in the city by taxi and about 300
made by foot, no case ever being neg
lected ami no call refused.
We still have 35 active cases of
military relief, anil 3I cases of civilian
relief under extended homo service.
Wo have seven cases of T n service
men and four who are still in service.

Tomorrow will be observed as Arbor
Day in the public schools of Jackson
county and at the suggestion of the
Scenic Preservation association the
creation of public sentiment against
the marring of the natural scenery and
promote the scenic development of
the county will be carried on with
more zeal than ever before.
The children of Jackson county are
being led by the teachers under direc
tion of the county superintendent of
schools auainst the destruction of
trees and shrubbery along the high
ways and to work for the preservation
and adding to the natural beauties.
A report of the Arbor Day activity
will be made at the regular monthly
meeting of the Scenic Preservation as
sociation which will be held at Central
Point on Friday, April 15. Final ar
rangements as to the time and meet
ing place at Central Point have not
been made hut will be announced in
the very near future.

social recall in society circles. This
refers to the cabaret function given
sometime ago, and which will be dup
licated tonight, Friday, April S. ai the
armory, on a bigger and mure elabor
ate scale than ever, wiih all the so
ciety beaux and belles not only from
Ashland, but also from adjoining
towns in tin? cast. Of cuurse this
leading event is sponsored by First
Company boys. The armory environ
ment, will be a charming one, in fact
spectacular to a certain extent. Pur
chasers of reservations have been al
lowed to adorn their tables, the incen
tive being substantial prizes, and as a
result some wonderful decorative ef
fects will he in evidence. A sergeant's
di'tail has installed a new liquid spot
light which is a revelation 'ti the way
of dispensing a radiant glow. The
"Rose Dance" will prove an aesthetic
feature, while the "crystal ball," par
ticipated in by Prof. Loveland and a
bevy of Ashland girls will be a star
atti-nction. Miss Isabelle Barron, home
from San Francisco on a vacation, will
render several vocal selections. Then
there is tlte saxapbone (pun-let which
will exeeuto thn "Down Home Rag."
Refreshments will be served on order
throughout the entertainment.
