The greatest wrestling match ever
seen in Southern Oregon will be
staged at Cold Hill tonight and a
large crowd from Mod ford will at ;
tend. Tod Thye, generally regardid ;
as tho middleweight wrestling cluing j
plon of America, will endeavor to l
throw Kalpli Hand, the wrosllhm j
champion of Southern Oregon and
tho prido of Gold Hill twice in one
j hour for the major . portion uf a ,
handsome purse. If he fails to do
this, or Hand should throw Thye. thu
local boy will win the honors and tho '
cash.
Although Hand has nevor tackled '
a man of Thye's reputation before, j
his friends are confident that there '
isn't a man his weight who can throw
him twice in sixty minutes, and they :
are willing to back up their confi
dence with coin. The. advance tickvl
cnle has been large and those who
haven't secured tickets are advised to
do so at once as the choice seats
f have been selling all day like hot
cakes. ,
In addition to the main match
which will probably start about 0:30,
there will be a preliminary wrestling
match between Sabi Hingh the terri
ble Hindu, and Jim Thor, tho fright
ful Swede, also a boxing match be
tween Hurl Uaton of Klamath Falls,
and Kd Tuber uf Salt Iako . City,
which was only arranged yesterday

Thye .arrived in Oold lliir this
morning, nnd appeared to be in the
best of, trim., lie 'would say, nothing
about tho result of the match, how
ever, remarking that hc-ulwuyH be
lieved actions in n wrestler were of
more importance than words. '
