There Is little or no foundation to
an article published in Medford papers
this week to tho el'foct that Jackson
ville citizens intended instituting suit
against the Btalo board of bank exam
iners for the recovery of money lost in
the collapse of the Bank of Jackson
ville," Bays tho Jacksonville Post.
While the mattor of bringing such n
suit has boon discussed, nothing def
inite has been decided upon and there
Is little likelihood of any such Htep be
ing taken. A suit of tills nature must
ho based on proof of connivance be
tween the hoard of examiners nnd par
ties responsible for wrecking the local
institution, and while local opinion
holds the board moro or Iosb guilty of
negligence In the performance of Its
dutlcB it nioBt assuredly does not go
