Jerry Jerome and Vernon Vawier

would probably be more enjoyed if
he had been garbed in greasy auto
mechanic costume, a bunch of car
rots in one hand, and an Knglish
sparrow in the other, and a picture of
Senator Penrose at hia feet.
Other big hits were the dancing of
a little three-year-old fairy girl, ac
companying Herb Alford's vocal solo,
tho very clever sleight of hand act of
Jay Gore, the ballads by William
Vawter and Fletcher Fish. and. but
this is totally unfair. Next thing we
will tie describing tho entire show, and
killing the keen edge of anticipation
and surprise of another capacity nu
dience, which will witness it tonight
Suffice it to say that the above briefly
describes tho Klks' minstrels, and that
this noon there were only less than a
hundred tickets left unsold for to
night's performance.

At a recent meeting of fruit grow
ers, the sentiment for supreme ef
forts to make a good orchard clean
up was unanimously endorsed. The
undersigned was petitioned to use
every effort to get all fruit erowers

resolution was passed, requesting a
notice to be printed in the paper.
In pursuance of tills, we wish to
call tho growers' attention to ihe
fact that the blossoming period in
our orchards will be here in abo.it

HEAD Mrs. Mary Head died at tho
home of her daughter, Mrs. A. S.
Adams at Orange, Calif., at C: 30
o'clock Monday, Feb.. 21, 1921, at the
ago of 79 years, 10 months and two
days. She leaves to mourn her loss
her five, children, Edward A. Head of
Nomina, Alaska, Mrs. Rebecca Adams
of Orange, Cal., Mrs, Mary Marsh of
Doniphan, Neb., Wm. B. Head and
Henry W. Head, both of Jackson coun
ty, besides 22 grandchildren nnd 14
great grandchildren. She leaves two
brothers.
Mary Dcarlng was born In Devon
shire, England, April 19, 1842. At tho
age of 12 she came with her parents to
Toronto, Canada whore on Jan. 22,
1S62 she was married to Thomas Head, j
She came with her family to Illinois In
1808 and to Oregon in 189;
p. m., Rev. E. Millars officiating. In
terment In Central Point cemetery.
Friends of the family are invited to
attend the service.

ants to the big Baker estate of mil
lions, which it Is expected will be dis
tributed soon In the east to tho thou
sands of heirs, In the person of .Mrs.

back five generations. She first began
